ARTIST BIO

Monique M Rojas is an Australian based artist living in Sydney.

Rojas is a mixed media artist who utilises photography and digital tools to manipulate the images for collage. She works with print media, paint, oil pastels and spray paint.

Artists Hannah Hoch, Picasso, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Ashkan Honarvar, and Flying Lotus are the main influencers of Rojas works. 

Rojas is a mainly self taught artist however the women in her family taught the creative skills she needed to be an artist. Rojas’s father introduced her to the art world by taking her to art galleries as a child.

By completing the Diploma of visual arts it helped open rojas repertoire of mediums and skills to incorporate into her artworks.

Rojas is a strong advocate for people in the Mental health and Neurodiversity community. By expressing her own personal experiences, hopes to stop stigma and discrimination and show a positive new light through her artworks.
